Is it by faith or by the works of the law?

1. O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified?
2. I want to ask you just one question. Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law or by hearing the gospel and believing?
3. Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now trying to perfect yourself in the flesh?
4. Are you saying that you have experienced so many hardships in vain? Was it really in vain?
5. When God gives you the Holy Spirit and works miracles among you, is it because you obey the law or because you believe the gospel?
6. Likewise Abraham said, "He believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness."
7. Know therefore thatthose who are of faith are the children of Abraham.
8. The Bible, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham first: " In you all the nations will be blessed. "
9. So those who are of faith were blessed along with believing Abraham.
10. Everyone who lives by the works of the law is under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to observe and do everything written in the Book of the Law."
11. Now it is clear that no one is justified before God by the law,
because it is written, “The just will live by faith.”
12. And the law is not of faith, but, "The man who does the law will live by it."
13. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us , for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.”
14. So that the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that we too might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Law and Promise

15. Brothers and sisters, I am using human examples: Even if a human covenant has been made, no one can annul it or add to it.
16. When God made the promise to Abraham and his offspring, he did not say, “And to offspring,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who was Christ.
17. What I mean is this: a law that came 430 years later cannot nullify a covenant that was made beforehand by God and cancel the promise.
18. For if the inheritance were of the law, it is no longer of promise; for by grace God gave the inheritance to Abraham through promise.
19. What then is the law? The law was added because of sin until the seed to whom the promise had been made should come. It was given through angels by the hand of a mediator.
20. For the mediator is not a mediator for one party only, but God is one.
21. Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not. For if the law had been given by a power that could give life, then righteousness would have come from the law.
22. But the law concluded all under sin, so that the promise might be given to those who believe by faith in Jesus Christ.
23. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, kept in chains until the faith which was to be revealed.
24. So the law was made our teacher to lead us until Christ came, so that we might be justified by faith.
25. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under the law's teacher.
26. For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
27. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
28. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

We who live in modern society are under the rule of law and must live by that rule.
Because it is a basic means of maintaining social order, and if it is not followed, social chaos will ensue.
However, those of us who believe in Jesus and have the hope of heaven can receive the grace of salvation only by believing in Jesus, not by the law. .
In today's message, the Apostle Paul
speaks about howwe can be saved by believing in Jesus Christ, overcome the power of death, and obtain eternal life.
He clearly stated that Abraham was justified by faith, and that God's promise was above the law .
Even among those who believe in Jesus, there are those who believe that salvation can be gained through actions, such as, “You must live a good life to go to heaven,” “You must do many good deeds to go to heaven,” “You must give a lot of money to be saved, ” or “You must do a lot of volunteer work to go to heaven.”
However, we can be saved if we just believe in Jesus Christ because Jesus came to this earth and loved us and was crucified for us, freeing us from the law of sin and death.
" 11. Now it is clear that no one is justified before God by the law, because it is said, "The just will live by faith."
But Jesus gave us a new law. .
" John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another."
And he says clearly that only those who practice love according to this will can be saved.
" Matthew 7:21
Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven . "
We are no longer bound by the law and are in sin. We
can obtain true salvationwhen we believe in the loving Jesus Christ, put on the clothes of Christ, and practice love.
Faith that works is loving God and loving your neighbor.

Jesus said, " Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."
This is the first and great commandment.
The second is like it: “ Love your neighbor as yourself.”
"On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

◆ Enlightenment given by the Holy Spirit
1. Becoming a child of God through faith
The law points out sin, but has no power to save us.
But through faith in Jesus we become “sons of God” (Galatians 3:26).
This means thatwe have the privilege of becoming children of God
not by our bloodline or actions, but by believing in Christ.Moreover, the distinction between Jew and Gentile, male and female, slave and free, is gone, and all are one in Christ (Galatians 3:28).
2. Living a life of faith
Many people today think, “If I live a good life, I can go to heaven,” or “If I pray a lot and donate a lot, I will be blessed.”
But Paul clearly states that "no one is justified by works of the law, but salvation is by faith" (Gal. 3:11).
But faith must not be mere knowledge, but something put into practice in life with love. .
The new commandment Jesus gave (John 13:34), “Love one another,” is a practical form of faith.
We are saved by believing in Jesus, but at the same time,
we must prove that faith byliving a life of love for God and love for our neighbors.
3. Be justified by faith and walk in love.
- Salvation is not received by works of the law, but only by faith in Jesus Christ.
- The law serves to make us aware of sin, but it cannot provide salvation.
- By faith we become children of God, and everyone becomes one without any more discrimination.
- Faith becomes perfect when it is practiced with love. A life of loving God and loving one's neighbor is true faith.
I pray that our faith will not be mere doctrinal knowledge, but a life that bears fruit in love. 🙏
Intercessory prayer for the construction workers

God the Father, full of love and grace,
I thank the Lord for choosing my precious son, Geonju Bu, and using him preciously for the kingdom of God.
Lord, we thank you for allowing us to meditate deeply on the words of the Bible, be justified by faith, act with love, and walk the path of sanctification. .
Lord, please let all your plans come true in accordance with your wisdom and guidance, and grant me a firm faith that will not waver in any difficulty. .
Please guide us so that our missionary work, especially through blogs, can be accomplished according to the Lord's will, through spreading the gospel and building economic pipelines.
May all writings be written with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and be a blessing to many people and bring glory to God.
Lord, please bless the father of the church so that he can build God's business through stock investment and real estate and help the poor and needy.
Please grant us wisdom through the HSRI system and business, and also grant us material blessings so that we may not be lacking in carrying out God's work.
Please keep us healthy and strengthen us both physically and spiritually, so that we can have deep fellowship with God every day and live in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. .
Also, please let me entrust all my worries and concerns to you, Lord, and live in peace, so that I may live a life in which your will is done. .
May God's love and glory be further revealed through the life of the late Pastor Gunju, and may the Lord's grace and blessings overflow wherever he goes.
